Living a Fulfilled Life While You Still Can

Christina GaliotoTake a minute to evaluate the moment you are currently in. Are you surrounded by people you love or in an environment that is less than desirable? Are you at work, enjoying your career, or simply doing a job? When you assess aspects of your life, can you honestly say that you are living your life to its fullest?

Living life to its full potential isn’t about jumping out of planes every weekend or living a crazy fast life. For Christina Galioto, living a fulfilled life comes with being around those you she loves and traveling the world. For others, it could be as simple as reading all of the books that you have on your list or spending more time with your family. Where you choose to invest your energy is how you choose to live your life. Living a more meaningful life draws us in to connect on a deeper level with ourselves and those around us. We find our sense of value and purpose through the actions that give us the most pleasure. Here are a few simple ways in which you can choose to make your life more meaningful.

Appreciate Challenges
Far too many of us are stuck in a comfort zone that presents little to no variation throughout our daily life. Many of us shy away from challenges, opting to stick to what we know. Can you honestly say that’s how you want to live your life? Challenges provide a variety of learning experiences that can help us gain a new perspective on how we live our lives.

Materialism is Not the Equivalent
It’s far too common for people to equate money, power, and consumerism with a fulfilled lifestyle. While loads of money can fix your external issues, it does nothing for your internal self. Making money is an insatiable desire that is hard to fill. Don’t find your joy in money; find your joy in what you can do with money. From traveling to helping others, the options are endless. Find the value in other facets of life.

Be Free of Outside Opinions
The worst thing we can do to our own happiness is to constantly fill ourselves with opinions of others. Our desire to please others or stress ourselves out about what they think and say about is will leave us feeling miserable. Free yourself from those opinions and define your own self.

We all are given the same 24 hours a day. Start making efforts to live those 24 hours to their absolute fullest, before it’s too late.
